23 Weeks

Apparently this part of pregnancy is very very boring. The size/weight update for this week: Sea Monkey is a tad bigger/heavier than last week. A little over 11 inches, a little over 1 pound. It doesn't even specify with how much bigger, like 11 2/3 inches or 1 pound 3 oz or something. Nope. S/he's just a little bigger.
The only developmental thing the updates say is that the blood vessels in Sea Monkey's lungs are developing to prepare for breathing. I guess that's important.... I guess. Also, Sea Monkey is now aware of me moving and can hear and become accustomed to noises like the vacuum. So s/he probably won't be terrified of me vacuuming and flee from the scary, scary machine like Mali does.
Sea Monkey had the hiccups again last night, and Zach may have felt the Ninja move. He for sure saw my stomach twitch with the hiccups, though, at least once. =)

Oh, so I'm a very crabby pregnant lady. Part of it is due to my very poor quality of sleep, part of it is hormones. I've been getting irritated very easily, and it's always at very stupid things. There is, thankfully, a rational side of me that realizes it's stupid and tries to just let it go, but wow. I got really angry at the birds outside one day, they were swooping around and chirping (it was very exciting for Mali) and how dare they be so cheerful??
Our walks are getting easier! We've started going a bit farther, we're doing the 1 1/2 miles in 30 minutes like Val asked and then we go another half mile in sort of a slow-down phase. And yesterday we had a tiny little stalker in the form of a very adorable fluffy orange kitten. I'm pretty sure it was a stray, but one that had lured other people in by it's absurd cuteness and was fed and pet frequently. It kept running up trees and bounding over the grass, and when it noticed that we were getting ahead of it, it would chase after us and run through our legs. He followed us for about a quarter of a mile and then found a very intriguing patch of wooded area and lost interest in us. But he was really cute and now Zach and I want another kitten. =)
