I currently hate my wrists. If it wouldn't be ridiculously painful and if I didn't need them and if I wouldn't look goofy and if I wouldn't regret it afterward.... I would cut them off. My arm would go from forearm to hand. And then I would have no more problems with tendinitis/carpal tunnel/whatever this stupid pain is.
I messed my wrists up about 3-4 years ago from excessive crocheting (...yep). I had to wear a brace for 3 or 4 months straight, until I could finally type a bit on the computer without wanting to stab something. From then until about a month ago, I've only had to wear the brace for maybe 2 days every so often. It would flare up, I'd put my brace on for a short time, and all better! It would happen every 3 or 4 months. There was even a time where I had no idea where my brace was because I hadn't needed it in so long. I miss that. I would love to be able to lose my brace again. I'm wearing it a couple times a week now. Something with the excessive hormones going crazy in me causes carpal tunnel in pregnant ladies, and since I'm already prone to it, it's been fantastic.
But it's ok. I've had a pretty easy pregnancy so far, and if this is my bad part, I'll take it.
So... 19 weeks today. Crazy, huh?
Babycenter's update:
"Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.
Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid."
It also says I'm supposed to start growing rapidly in the coming weeks. Maybe I'll start looking pregnant to strangers soon! Whenever we go anywhere, I have to examine my baby-belly in whatever shirt I'm wearing to see if it looks like I'm pregnant or fat to strangers. I always ask Zach this question, and he always responds something along the lines of "I think you look pregnant. You look beautiful." Which is really very sweet and always makes me beam happily for a while. But I haven't had a single person come up to me and ask if I'm pregnant, like I hear so many other people due the same time as me talk about. It's alright, I don't like to be the center of attention, and I always feel very awkward talking to people I don't know (...or people I do know, for that matter). I'm sure that stage is coming.
Still feeling sporadic movements from Sea Monkey. A lot of things say that if you're quietly laying down, you're a lot more likely to feel something. Not for me. I've tried. Many times. But no, my child almost always only moves if there's music or a movie playing or someone talking (I'm usually listening to music quietly, so I'm sure s/he is just used to it and likes the light background music). I love the little movements though. They feel really odd, but it always makes me smile. I'm very excited for when they're more frequent. =)
And, as I am quite possibly one of the most boring people in the world, I think that's just about everything I have to say (not really; I could ramble for hours, but my wrist hurts and I'm hungry).
Appointment Tuesday.
And Zach's birthday is tomorrow!!! Happy 22nd Zach!!!!! =)

poor wrists :-(
I think people may just be getting smarter about not asking random strangers if they are pregnant. Mainly because asking and being wrong has it's own special brand of embarrassment. Unless the lady was about to go into labor right then and there, I wouldn't dream of asking someone if they were pregnant if I didn't know them well/know they were trying.
