14 weeks

This is for Zach: Hi bebe! Ladidahdidah.

(It's much funnier in person than it would be to explain it... so I'm not going to try. And when I say in person, I mean if you're either me or Zach. Because my sense of humor is really weird.)

Today makes 14 weeks, and I'm officially in the 2nd trimester, by everyone's count. Sea Monkey is about 3 1/2 inches long and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces. S/he squints, frowns, grimaces, pees, and possibly sucks his/her thumb. Kidneys are producing urine, spleen is helping produce red blood cells (excuse me for pretty much just plagiarizing babycenter). Babycenter also says that I start feeling movement sometime between 16-22 weeks. First timers generally don't feel it as early, though, which is a bummer. But soon. Yay! Although there are some first timers in different "due in September" groups that say they're feeling it. Everybody's different, though, so I may not feel Sea Monkey moving until 22 weeks (....that would be sad to wait so long!).

I officially fail at sleep, in case you're wondering. Last night I woke up at 2, 4, 6:20, and 8:40. Boooooooo. And it took me forever to get back to sleep after I went to the bathroom each time (except for when I got up at 8; I just gave up on sleep).

Zach and I went on a walk yesterday. It was nice; the weather is starting to warm up, so it was mid-40's when we went out yesterday (today it's supposed to be 54!!). We just kind of walked through the neighborhood, and it probably wasn't more than a mile, but I was really tired by the time we got back. I know I'm out of shape, but I'm not that out of shape. Apparently being winded easily is another pregnancy thing. I get winded going up the stairs, which makes no sense at all, since I go up and down the stairs multiple times a day.

Oh, and here's a lovely one for you: apparently pregnancy makes my armpits smell. Really bad. Really, really bad. I don't know if Zach notices or not, but I certainly do, and no amount of showering or deodorant fixes it. So... if you ever come near me, don't go sniffing around my armpits. I can't think of why you would, but just in case you get the inclination, DO NOT DO IT. Also because it tickles.

I have nothing interesting to talk about today. I have nothing interesting to do today, either. Tonight would be our traditional Pizza and Chocolate Friday, but Richard and Karen are having some friends down for dinner tonight, so it's Fettucine Alfredo Friday... Which, though delicious, just doesn't flow as well. Oh well.

Maybe I'll start posting "bump" pictures soon. I don't really look like I have a bump yet, I just look chubby(er). I'm excited to get into the "obviously pregnant" stage instead of the "is she? isn't she?" stage. (hahaha, "when's that baAAAAby due??" "what baby?")

Heh I read when I was pregnant that you don't actually smell worse, but your heightened since of smell has made it so that you can smell yourself easier. Doesn't that make you feel better? Lol.
